Why Horses?
Horses are powerful teachers.
A horse’s heartbeat has an incredible ability to influence a human’s heartbeat -proven to calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety. Something as simple as coloring or sitting beside a horse can help a child learn to regulate their emotions, process stress, and calm their minds.
What’s more, when a child brushes a horse’s withers, the horse releases oxytocin — the “bonding hormone.” It’s a beautiful way for children to learn about mutual trust, respect, and gentle care.
And best of all? Horses mirror our energy. They give honest feedback. If we’re anxious, confused, or unclear, they show us — not to judge, but to help us grow. Our minis help kids learn boundaries, communication, and emotional awareness in ways that stick.

Build confidence, calm, and connection through hands-on activities with our minis.
Each session includes:
-Safety Lesson & Pre-brief (what we’re doing + why)
-Horse activity (leading, grooming, games)

Curl up beside a calm mini horse and read aloud. Whether it's a favorite story or a school reader, this quiet time builds confidence in reading — all while bonding with your new hoofed friend.

Tornado & Katie are a father-daughter team of mini horses!
Tornado is a curious little guy who loves to know what you’re up to, keeps a watchful eye over Katie and LOVES chasing Fred the cat! He’s always up for meeting new people and loves running ‘full speed ahead’ in the pasture!
Katie is a very sweet horse and a great listener! She loves visiting with seniors and allowing them ample time to pet her and dote over her! You can find her stretched out in the sunshine, or rolling in a fresh dirt pile!
Lindsay Rae is a certified Equine Assisted Development Coach with Equine Assisted Learning Canada. She loves seeing the emotional growth and healing that happens around animals. Lindsay brings an 18 year background in teaching music lessons, business management, event planning and currently….being a professional princess for kids’ parties!
